Preloved ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian peer-to-peer marketplace for families to buy and sell preloved kids' items. We are operated as a sole trader / small business based in Australia.

2. What Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Your name and email address when you join the waitlist or create an account
- Your profile information including a display name and profile photo
- Listing information including photos, descriptions and prices of items you list for sale
- Payment information — note that we use Stripe to process payments and do not store your card details ourselves
- Messages you send through our in-app messaging system
Information we collect automatically:
- Basic usage data such as pages viewed and features used
- Your approximate location (suburb or city level only, not your precise address)
- Device type and browser information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enable you to list items for sale and make purchases
- Process payments securely through Stripe
- Send you emails about your account, purchases and listings
- Send you our waitlist and launch communications (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve the platform and fix issues
- Keep the platform safe and prevent fraud
4. What We Do NOT Do With Your Information
We will never:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Share your contact details (phone number, email, home address) with other users
- Use your information for advertising by third parties
- Share your data with advertisers
All communication between buyers and sellers happens through our in-app messaging system. Your personal contact details are never visible to other users.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Email providers — for sending transactional and waitlist emails
- Hosting providers — for storing the platform and its data securely
We may also disclose information if required to do so by Australian law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
6. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored on secure servers. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access and disclosure.
As we are an early-stage platform, we will update this section as our infrastructure matures.
7. Your Rights
Under Australian Privacy Law (the Privacy Act 1988), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your account and associated data
